Injection lipolysis
Injection lipolysis is a kind of non-surgical liposuction used to dissolve small amounts of unwanted fat. Lipolysis is performed with a preparation containing phosphatidylcholine, a natural component derived from soy beans, which is injected into the treated areas. Injection lipolysis can reduce the amount of fat especially within the chin, neck, arms, abdomen, hips and thighs.
In the treated area (the fatty tissue), the preparation is injected using a thin needle (multiple pricks) or long needle (single pricks).
Immediately after injection of phosphatidylcholine, some minor side effects may appear: redness, local swelling, feeling of warmth, pain, itching of the skin and bruises. These symptoms usually disappear within 3-5 days. In addition, the injection sites may remain thickened over a period of 2-4 weeks.
Recommended number of sessions depends on the amount of fatty tissue in the treated area. Usually 2-4 treatments are performed at 4-6-week intervals.
